I didn't do a mistake, is Spanish and English in one sentence but I believe you all understand what I meant.
Music ,is the same in a sense, we can always find a common ground.May be different sounds, rhythms, instruments, lyrics, patterns but the typical cliche "music is a universal language" is true for me.
I had this great experience in 1994, when I just arrived to Canada.
Some guy from Japan contacted me to play with him and another man from Afghanistan.He played an instrument called..... , the other fellow played the harmonium and I played the violin.
We did a show at Arts Court, we play a tango, a Japanese song and a song from Afghanistan.
We worked as a team learning from each other and we offered to the public a unique opportunity to see three different cultures creating a new sound.
I am happy that now , one of the missions of WOFOMO ( World Folk Music Ottawa) is to facilitate musical interaction with new Canadians from different backgrounds.
I guess is the circle of la vida
