The only thing I know how to do, is play and teach music. But where do I go? Who should I talk to?
How do I make some money?
Big questions, not too many answers when you just arrived full of fear, uncertainty and hope.
My advice is to dig deep in all the potential that you have and you don't know.
I met a great woman at the Byward Market, her name is Ryoko. She was there playing a beautiful Japanese instrument called Shamisen. We talked and I invited her for coffee because I wanted to know more about her life and her music.
Ryoko has many talents to offer. She plays other instruments like Japanese flutes and drums. She also showed me the ceremony of putting a kimono, took a while and was amazing.
I said"...Ryoko, you have to put together a workshop to offer to children and adults.." She said"...but what will I teach?..."
This is what I mean when I said that we all have a lot of talents. We need to take time, interest, effort and I promise you that you can find a beautiful jewel hiding in yourself.
By the way, maybe my English is not great but this blog is for everybody, especially new immigrants who want to express themselves and are learning how to do it in Ingles.
